a perfect day

Some days are so perfect in their simplicity that you just don't want to forget that they really do happen!
My morning at work involved great teamwork with a colleague and a product we were happy with. Then our boss took our team to lunch and then to a local dairy/ice cream parlor in the beautiful countryside. We sat outdoors in rockers on the porch, enjoyed the sun and the perfect weather, and laughed and played. My afternoon was just as perfect; I practiced my drums and had a relaxing afternoon, then I picked my pup up from her "day camp" where she goes once or twice a week. Her camp counselor raved about her, and talked about her playing with her best friends Evie and Jorge, and shared that she was the first dog to greet and play with a new puppy (Kevin!) that arrived that day.
Pup and I went home for dinner; one of our best friends joined us. The three of us then went for a walk in the woods for an hour, leaving the woods just as the sun was setting, and wandering the garden and picking lettuce before going in the house. The honeysuckle was in full bloom during our walk, filling the air with its heady scent. I brought a branch home to put by my bed so that I could continue to smell it. After our walk we played on my drums together, then my friend left and I got another hour of practice in.
I don't think the day could have been too much happier. I love when life hands us these little gifts!
